July has been officially designated as Texas Fibroid Awareness Month!
Uterine fibroids affect millions of women, representing one of the most widespread reproductive health challenges today. Despite how frequently they occur, this condition remains vastly underfunded and rarely discussed openly. Many women silently endure life-disrupting symptoms, which frequently include:
- Severe pelvic discomfort and pressure
- Abnormally heavy or prolonged menstrual bleeding
- Chronic fatigue caused by anemia
- Increased urgency or frequency of urination
- Complications with fertility and recurrent miscarriages
Because awareness remains low, many individuals are unaware of the modern medical options available to them. We want to change that conversation.
We invite you to attend our upcoming Lunch and Learn events. The Barbara Jordan Leadership Institute is coordinating these with the support of the Fibroid Institute, The Afrocentric Communiversity, and community leaders. These sessions are designed to empower you with knowledge, break the silence, and prepare you for an open, informed discussion with your doctor. Discover the latest screening methods and tailored treatment pathways to safeguard your long-term wellness.
The event is family-friendly and FREE for guests to attend. We look forward to seeing you there!
