July has been officially designated as Texas Fibroid Awareness Month!
Uterine fibroids pose a significant health challenge for women of every ethnicity. Women with fibroids often encounter pelvic discomfort, frequent urination, anemia, infertility, miscarriage, and intense bleeding. Although this condition is widespread, it lacks adequate research funding and awareness to allow women to discuss treatment alternatives openly with their doctors.
To encourage women to speak with their OB/GYN about getting an updated screening for uterine fibroids and the best treatment options to protect their health, we are offering a Self-Care Forum.
The Barbara Jordan Leadership Institute is coordinating this event with the support of Starrville Church of the Living God, Fibroid Institute Texas, Merit Medical and community leaders. The event is FREE for guests to attend.
