July has been officially designated as Texas Fibroid Awareness Month!
Uterine fibroids pose a significant health challenge for women from all ethnic backgrounds. Women afflicted with fibroids often experience pelvic discomfort, recurrent urination, anemia, infertility, pregnancy loss, and profuse menstrual bleeding. Although uterine fibroids are prevalent, they receive inadequate research funding and reduced discussion in medical circles, leaving women with less knowledge about options for treatment.
To encourage women to speak with their OB/GYN about getting an updated screening for uterine fibroids and the best treatment options to protect their health, we are offering a Self-Care Forum. Please join us!
The Barbara Jordan Leadership Institute is coordinating this event with the support of Fibroid Institute Texas, Merit Medical and community leaders. The event is FREE for guests to attend.
